Located along the Galena River, this beautifully landscaped park combines history, recreation, and plenty of space for families to explore—all just a short walk across the pedestrian bridge from downtown Galena. Kids can burn off some energy at the playground or basketball court while the whole family explores the park’s historic cannons, monuments, Ulysses S. Grant statue, fountain, gazebo, and scenic grounds. Pack a picnic, watch the trains pass by, or simply find a favorite spot to relax and admire views of Galena’s historic hillside.
