Historic Sites
In this restored shop you will see how a boot factory operated, in Nauvoo. Learn how an 1840s shoemaker used different grades of leather and wood to construct shoes.
Also learn how pioneers “personalized” their shoes. The Risers left Nauvoo in 1846. They arrived in Utah in September, 1847. They were eventually the parents of nine children.
