2026年7月4日は、独立宣言調印250周年にあたる。イリノイ州全土で、この歴史的な節目に関連する有意義な方法を探ることができる。

イリノイ州アメリカ250委員会は、イリノイ州観光局と協力し、イリノイ州民が独立宣言の理想を実現した豊かで多様な方法を反映する史跡、博物館、記念碑を紹介するサイトを州全体で展開している。

アメリカン・ストーリーにおけるイリノイ州の貢献は、1776年のはるか以前から始まり、この記念日を超えても続いていく。サイトは、イリノイ・アメリカ250の4つのテーマで構成されている:
